The Lord is My HidingPlace

David, the sweet Psalmist of Israel, was ever mindful of the goodness and grace of our Heavenly Father: “The Lord is my Light and my salvation - the Lord is the strength of my life” and so God cares for us in every possible way. “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me, He shall set me up on a rock” (Psalm 27 : 1-5).

It is a wonderful thing to know that the angels of God’s presence place their arms of love around us to guide and encourage us in the ways of the Truth.

“Oh how great is Thy goodness which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast  wrought  for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence  from the pride of man; thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavillion from the strife of tongues” (Psalm 31 : 19,20.

The apostle Paul’s words confirm these thoughts  in 2 Cor 6:9 Where he says, “We are as unknown and yet well known” To the world we are unknown, to God well known, because our life is hid with Christ in God our hiding place.

Our memorial meetings  are a hiding Place shut away  from  the world outside and where Jesus presides  as our unseen Guest. A time of refreshing and fellowship of the spirit, which the world could not know or understand. It is special and unique for the saint of God. The Psalmist explains it for us so well in His prayer of confidence and self- assurance, Psalm 32:7 “Thou art my hiding place, thou shalt preserve me from trouble, thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance”

Let us then rejoice and be glad in the Lord.
