When Things Go Wrong (Job 1:10)

How often have you asked the question, ‘Why?” Tragedy strikes you, you experience hard times, a disaster occurs, trouble overtakes somebody and the question rings out, “Why? Lord, why did you let this happen?” On the contrary, though, when something good takes place, how often, or rather, how seldom do you hear of people giving thanks to God for the blessing they have received? One of the very important facets of the life of a Christian is the discipline of faith. In order to lead a full life in Christ it is essential that you put your absolute trust in God in all circumstances, good or bad, believing that He will provide all you need.

Your concept of life is human and can only take in the here and now. It is for this reason that you may find it difficult to understand why things are allowed to take place which have a seemingly adverse effect upon you. This is when it becomes necessary to show that strength of faith that will enable you to put your trust in God, whose view of life is eternal. Believe that there is a purpose in everything that takes place in your life. Also believe that the purpose is known to God, and let your faith reassure you that everything that happens fits into a pattern, ultimately for good.
