You may have seen on the media that the Taliban have resurge in Afghanistan, recently taking control of half the country. Many civilians are fleeing as town after town falls to them. Their declared intention is to establish an Islamic extremist emirate in Afghanistan. This of course is a frightening prospect for those baptized into Christ there. A sister there was able to join us at our Zoom breaking of bread this last Sunday, and beforehand privately shared with us her terror at what is happening. So let us pray for the situation and our brethren in that tragic land.

After much correspondence, a group of us were able to walk with ANTHONY from his home to the shores of the Indian Ocean, to hear a true confession of faith in the things of the Kingdom and the Lord Jesus, and then to witness his self baptism in the Ocean. He gave a truly expression of such deep joy afterwards. We do praise the Lord for His work in human lives worldwide. "All joy and peace through believing" is the repeated experience of all these converts and we can only salute the Father and the Lord Jesus for their amazing work:

Again a group of us were delighted to witness the baptism of PRINCE. Internet bandwidth isn't great in Africa, and we had repeated periods of "Reconnecting" and "Poor connection" and frozen screens. We resorted to turning our cameras off so he could keep his camera on. But it was all worth it, and he expressed great joy after his immersion in a specially constructed barrel:
It was lovely to hear such mature prayers from other recently baptized brothers and sisters like Rob and Saida.

For over a year we've been corresponding with an app user , Maxim, in a truly remote spot in Russia. He plans this week to hike to a river, seeing they are enjoying their brief Summer there, and baptize himself. If possible, we'll be present with him on the journey and at the baptism, if there is internet coverage. This is a major journey for him and we ask your prayers that he makes it, he has a wonderful grasp of all the doctrines we hold dear. It is really amazing where the Truth is penetrating thanks to the technology God has clearly raised up for this purpose.

   - For those recently baptized
   - For Maxim as he makes his journey to the river
   - For the situation and our brethren in Afghanistan
   - For the many facing persecution at the hands of Islamic extremism

With love from your brothers and sisters of Carelinks
