What Should I Do – All This Suffering?

Those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good (1 Peter 4:19). This is exactly what Jesus did and we know that he suffered for what was good – our salvation! He was despised, but still loved everybody. He was looked down upon by many, but Jesus kept his head up high. When the going got tough he did not lose heart but continued to do good and commit himself to the faithful Creator. Think of Joseph, Hannah and Daniel.

We should always let the Bible influence our thinking by focussing on Jesus and where we want to be (ie the Kingdom) – not on our problems. It may not be easy but it’s worth it.

We should always ask our faithful Creator to sharpen our eyes of faith for a better understanding and attitude to our suffering. When we don’t understand, we fail to see any good from our suffering but we do show our bad attitude. We spoil the discipline, the training, from our loving and faithful Creator. God thinks beautifully about us and we should just love Him especially with our actions, and always remember: “We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose” (Rom 8:28).
