Serving the Lord

Being Christians entails that we no longer conform to the patterns of worldly desires but rather follow the example of Christ. Like an un-switched on kettle that cannot boil, Christians cannot be on the boil if they remain switched off from Jesus Christ. We simply can’t be on the boil if we are not plugged in. Jesus wants us to be switched on; we should remain switched on as we await the return of the one whose “right” is the Kingdom – Jesus Christ our Master and Saviour.

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep our spiritual fervour, serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11). That’s the way it should be, moving on with the right friends in fellowship. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father except through me”(John 14:6).

We must serve God “It is the Lord your God you must follow; and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him” (Deut 13:4).
