Fishers of Men

?Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.? These are the Master?s words. Jesus was speaking to men who were fishermen. I am sure, as it was their business and only source of income, they had acquired all the necessary knowledge on fishing. No man can be a successful fisherman unless he studies fish. He must know the things that they like and the things that repel them.

Jesus Christ called the twelve to be with him and that he might send them forth to preach (Mark 3:14). Jesus, who calls, is the one who knows how far the world is from the truth. He calls and teaches how to launch out into the sea of men who are in the dark and draw them unto God. He says, ?The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few?? (Luke 10:2).

We are urged to pray without ceasing, to live in faith and to do all things with love. Therefore let every brother and sister ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his field.
